Lightstreamer (Weswit) to Exhibit at HTML5 Developer Conference 2013

Lightstreamer's CTO Alessandro Alinone confirmed as a speaker in a session titled “More Than Just WebSockets for Real-Time Multiplayer Games and Collaboration”.

SAN JOSE, CA -- (PRWeb - October 18, 2013) -- Lightstreamer, a global leader in real-time data streaming technology, announced today its sponsorship at the HTML5 Developer Conference on October 22-23, 2013 at Moscone Center, the largest convention and exhibition complex in San Francisco, California.

The HTML5 Developer Conference is the highest attended HTML5, JavaScript, and Web Development conference in the world and allows coders, experts, exhibitors and vendors to gather around emerging technologies through workshops, keynotes and sessions from industry professionals representing key IT firms with an international prominence. Lightstreamer will have a dedicated booth (#36) to meet the visitors and demonstrate their technology.

Lightstreamer's co-CEO and CTO Alessandro Alinone will hold a session titled “More Than Just Websockets for Real-Time Multiplayer Games and Collaboration” on Tuesday October, 22 at 2.30 PDT. In his presentation, Alessandro will explain and demonstrate how some optimization techniques, originally developed for the financial services industry in the past years, can be applied to HTML5 gaming and collaboration. The goal is the reduction of network bandwidth and latency, together with the possibility to use high-level constructs and paradigms, to lower the development effort and increase the robustness of the applications.

“The same algorithms we have developed in the last decade can give immediate benefit to multiplayer games, including MMOs, MMORPGs, and immersive 3D virtual worlds”, wrote Alessandro Alinone in a presentation article. “We decided to work on an online demo of a simple multiplayer 3D world, using Lightstreamer for the real-time synchronization, while showing the actual bandwidth used. We added several buttons, sliders, and controls to allow tweaking the parameters of the scenario and simulate any flavor of data delivery”.

Lightstreamer is a highly engineered server for the streaming of real-time data to and from any mobile, browser-based, and desktop applications, including HTML5, Android, iOS, and many other platforms. Based on HTTP and WebSockets, it is able to pass through any kind of proxy and firewall. Features include bandwidth and frequency control, proxies and firewall traversal capabilities, and total control over security and the quality of service. Several tier-one banks, as well as many other financial institutions, have integrated Lightstreamer in their online dealing platform to deliver real-time market data to their customers.
